Carkeek Park Demonstration GardensThe Gardens are a unique city park feature

The Gardens are maintained by volunteers with support from the Carkeek Park Advisory Council to engage the local community.

Advisory Councils are governed by the Associated Recreation Council (ARC) in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR), who work together to provide recreation and lifelong learning programs and services to the people of Seattle.

In a maintenance agreement with the Master Gardeners of King County and SPR, the Gardens are the largest of ten demonstration gardens in the county providing a research-based teaching environment. The Master Gardener Program is part of the Washington State University Extension.
