Call for Temporary Art Projects at Carkeek Park

Heaven & Earth IX (2017): Cultivate/d

The Submission deadline has passed. Thank you to the 29 artists who have submitted proposals.

In collaboration with Seattle Parks and Recreation, ArtSite Ltd., and the Associated Recreation Council, the Carkeek Park Advisory Council (CPAC) invites proposals for up to five temporary outdoor projects for the ongoing environmental art exhibition known as Heaven & Earth. Carkeek Park is located in NW Seattle and features an approximately 190 acre urban forest with fields, wooded trails, and a saltwater beach. The exhibition runs August 5, 2017 – October 15, 2017. The deadline for submissions is June 18, 2017; there is no fee to apply. Emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply.

Artists and artist teams will be offered an honorarium of $1,000 ($500 upon successful installation of accepted projects, and another $500 upon successful de-installation of projects). For the ninth season of the ongoing series, the organizers have selected ArtSite Ltd, a professional sculpture installation team, as curator.
