EarthKeepers is a special summer day camp for exploring, learning and playing outdoors in Carkeek Park’s 216 acres of lush forest, meadows, wetlands, creeks, and beach. We offer activities to foster friendship, learning, creativity and leadership. On any given day at Camp you may find yourself exploring the tide pools, hike the many trails, play in a field, learn about nature, or create art. Different themes each week! The age range that camp is designed for is 6 – 12. The camp runs 9am – 4pm , Monday through Friday, June 26 to August 25, 2017 (no camp July 4th).
EarthKeepers is the primary source of income for the Carkeek Park Advisory Council (CPAC) which supports many of the volunteer activities in the park including the salmon imprint pond, Pipers Orchard, the demonstration gardens, Heaven & Earth art exhibition, and the trail map. Last year, 55% of the net revenues went to CPAC .
The Carkeek Park Advisory Council provides scholarships for EarthKeepers to help those who might not otherwise be able to go to summer camp. This year, CPAC is putting up $1500 in scholarship funds.
